The Léman collection has been one of Caran d'Ache's most important series for decades. The Caran d'Ache factories are located near Lac Léman, better known as Lake Geneva, where writing instruments have been manufactured with Swiss precision since 1924. The Léman collection has a classic design and is available in various lacquer colors with matching finishes, gold-plated or rhodium-plated.
The Léman fountain pen has a screw cap and can be filled with standard cartridges or with the included converter. The nib is made of 18-carat gold. Depending on the model, the nib is gold-colored or has a rhodium finish.

Caran d'Ache is a Swiss manufacturer of high-quality writing instruments (such as pencils and pens), art supplies and accessories. In 1915, Arnold Schweitzer bought the pencil factory "Ecridor" in the heart of Geneva. Nine years later, in 1924, Caran d'Ache was officially founded. Arnold Schweitzer called his company Caran d'Ache, the pseudonym of a then well-known French satirical political cartoonist from Russia. Karandasi means Pencil in Russian. All writing instruments are manufactured in Switzerland.
