Lamy's roots go back to 1930 when C. Josef LAMY founded his own company in Heidelberg called Orthos Fountain Pen Factory. However, it is the LAMY 27 fountain pen that made a breakthrough on the market in 1939. With this, LAMY definitively establishes its name.
