The Imporium rollerballs have a PVD coating. This is a thin layer around the rollerball that protects it against scratches. Only first-class metals such as platinum or titanium are used for the entire rollerball. What really completes the Rollerball is the PVD-refined two-tone 14kt gold nib that guarantees a uniquely smooth writing experience and is available in different nib widths.

Lamy's roots go back to 1930 when C. Josef LAMY founded his own company in Heidelberg called Orthos Fountain Pen Factory. At the beginning of the Second World War, more than 200,000 ORTHOS and ARTUS brand fountain pens are produced annually, and his knowledge and expertise about this writing instrument is growing. However, it is the LAMY 27 fountain pen that made a breakthrough on the market in 1939. With this, LAMY definitively establishes its name. LAMY moved to Heidelberg in 1952, the place where they still make the most beautiful, innovative, and unique pens to this day.
