Omas Fountain Pen Paragon BT - Blue Lucen Fine

In the 1930s, Armando Simoni surprised the Italian writing industry with the creation of the Paragon collection. It was a design that heralded a new era with its 12 facets and revolutionary roll clip.

The Paragon collection was groundbreaking not only because of its unique design, but also because of the innovative refill mechanism that Omas introduced. This modern system ensures that the ink does not come into contact with the celluloid. In this way, corrosion is prevented and the quality of the celluloid is maintained, even over time. This makes sense, because Armando only uses the very best celluloid he can find.

Armando Simoni was known for his statement: "A pen should make writing enjoyable." If you believe that writing is the key to one's soul, then the OMAS designs tell you a lot about their creator. Armando Simoni was not only a technician and artist, but also a great lover of Greek culture and the world of pens.

In 1925 he founded OMAS (Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni) in Bologna. In the 1930s he designed the twelve-sided model and another great success story from the pre-war years: the 'Doctor's Pen', equipped with a small clinical thermometer in the body of the pen. Simoni's passion for technical challenges led to the creation of surprising models.

After his appointment as Cavaliere (Knight) of the Crown of Italy, Armando Simoni was known as the "Cavaliere". This noble status also had consequences for his business. The small workshop in Bologna transformed into a company with international fame.

The values of Armando Simoni live on in the creations of OMAS. Since 1925, all OMAS products have been conceived, created and handcrafted in the Bologna workshop. Every writing instrument is the result of a large number of careful manual actions. They bring out the best of the typical features of the "Made in Italy" style and set a benchmark for Italian excellence.

In 2016 the company was closed, but has revived in 2023.
