Pelikan Fountain Pen Souverän M400 - Tortoiseshell/ White

In 1929, Pelikan took a big step into the writing world. As a pioneer, the company introduced a unique piston mechanism. This technique, in which the spindle rotates faster than the holder end piece, was a world first. This was made possible thanks to two different threads.
The design and technical details have evolved over the years, but the basic mechanism remains unchanged. The fountain pen is now available in countless variants, but the core of the innovation remains.

In 1950, Pelikan unveiled the Model 400, instantly recognizable by its green striped cover. This model became a global symbol for the brand. In the 1980s, the series was renamed 'Souverän', a name that is still synonymous with quality and craftsmanship.
Creating the signature cover is an art in itself. It starts with cotton, carefully processed according to a special Pelikan recipe. After countless steps, a striped cloth is created, which is then shaped, ground and sanded to perfection.

In 2004, a special writing instrument inspired by the iconic pen model 400 from the 1950s was released. This fountain pen is a fascinating combination of tortoiseshell white and tortoiseshell brown, completed with a transparent ink reservoir. The result is a pen that is not only functional, but also a feast for the eyes.
What makes this pen so special is the striped, transparent cover that shimmers subtly in gold. Together with the white cap and the rest of the white body, this gives the pen its distinctive bright and friendly appearance.
